FlowControl is a hose switch-off system that is installed in the hose of the slurry spreading implement directly behind the distributor. Each individual hose can be pneumatically controlled and switched off from inside the tractor cabin by simply pressing a button. The result is easy switching to partial widths, or a switch-off of a pre-selected group of hoses. For example when a part of the field is not to be fertilized - then all one needs to do is press a button.
As an additional option when using vacuum slurry tankers, the technology also allows an adjustment to suit to the manure slurry type. For highly viscous and/or low-nutrient fertilizers, a maximum flowrate is required. And for low viscosity and/or high nutrient fertilizer, the discharge cross-sectional area and thus the discharge amount / application amount is reduced. In former times the application amount was adjusted solely by varying the tractor travel speed. Now this is possible simply through a regulator. This is a big advantage for soggy ground and in ”hilly“ regions. Now that a high travel speed is no longer required to achieve an exact spreading amount, smaller tractors may be used to do the spreading. The other advantage offered, thanks to its special design, is that the FlowControl system can be easily installed afterwards onto existing hose-distributor systems. When compared to other systems offered on the market, the simplicity of the FlowControl system is indeed convincing. Just a simple balloon and a small compressed air line, nothing more is needed. Costs and troubles are thus minimal. Both systems, in combination with modern telemetry (e.g. GPS), open new possibilities for easy, economical and precision slurry spreading. This is a step to the day when manure slurry hopefully will not be seen as just a foul smelling waste, but more as a valuable economical fertilizer that will add positively to soil nutrients.
