The RotaCut - the original from Vogelsang. Developed in the 1990s, today it's the essential workhorse in many systems and plants.And there are reasons why it's often copied by competitors. As a high performance, wet shredder with integrated heavy object separator, it's the perfect solution for problems involving coarse and fibrous foreign matter and foreign objects in liquid media. Foreign objects are separated while coarse and fibrous materials are chopped up, thus making the liquid medium homogeneous. The RotaCutreliably keeps all foreign objects away from every piping system, prevents clumping and clogging, and assures trouble-free operation of pumping systems. Also when a defined shredding gradeis needed- e.g. in the disposal industry - the RotaCut, thanks to its proven cutting concept, is the best choice.

How it works: 

The liquid medium flows continuously through the RotaCut. Foreign objects such as stones, metal parts, etc. are separated by gravity, and can be easily removed later through a clean-out opening. All materials that float (fibrous material, bones, wood, etc.) are carried by the flowing medium to the cutting screen. Here the solids are cut up by rotating, self-sharpening knives.

The RotaCut, which was introduced onto the market by Vogelsang over 10 years ago, has been and continues to be optimised, and it has become the indispensable component in pumping systems for abrasive, heavily charged liquid media. We offer the RotaCut in four basic versions using different materials, drive systems, cutting screen sizes and pump combinations. The RotaCut, with its excellent features, is convincing more and more of its users.

Advantages and features

Shredding involves headwork

The exchangeable cutting knives made of tool steel are optimally arranged on a 4-wing differential knife rotor, and they are pressed against the cutting screen by self-adjusting pressure system. The cutting screen made of hardened steel with a specially developed geometry may be used on both sides. The constant contact between the rotating knives and the stationary cutting screen assures the highest efficiency with respect to function and economy. The shaft seal between the gearbox motor and the cutting head is provided by a mechanical seal with an oil chamber.

ACC (AutomaticCutControl)

• Optimum cutting pressure, adjustable from outside the RotaCut.
  ACC allows the optimum cutting pressure to be selected while the machine is in operation. Then it's automatically kept constant.

The decisive difference when compared to other macerators and double-shaft shredders is the cutting principle. Because of the constant contact between the knives and cutting screen, everything fromthick pieces of wood to extremely fine fibers (e.g. hair) are reliably cut and shredded.
